I’ve lived in this apartment for a total of 13 years, and the only outage was the great east coast blackout of 20o3. And I still had gas, so I could cook. The SigOther abandoned her apartment below 14th St (no power) during one of the big recent storms (probably Sandy) and came up here - now she lives here. There are places that flood here, and those that likely will not. I know where I’ll be.

That’s true. We pay to live here - we expect something!

I can’t say anything about Con Ed.
But in Chicagoland? Com Ed is on par with Comcast in the “Customer Service” department.

Fair enough, mine are buried too so Dominion has to really mess up for my condo to lose power. Now if you want entertainment watch the misadventures of Pepco in DC.

Jealous. We get a decent amount of windstorms in my area, and there is a downed line somewhere in my neighborhood every time. The weekend after we moved in we lost power for 18 hours.

We don’t have TW here. I’m in the “country” now. Phone, TV and Internet is $154/mo for the basics.
I haven’t signed up yet and probably won’t. I’m getting used to no TV.

Definitely have experienced a black out both in the Bronx and in Queens due to a heat wave and everybody running their ACs.
